Notifications

The CricBay application has become a nerve center for all the things we do around our teams, games etc. Lot of activities we do involve time-sensitivity and keeping concerned people in the loop.

We have built-in context-sensitive notifications at various points in the applications at points when certain key events happen or when actions are taken. Here is a complete list

Player Account Management

Registration Verification
When a new player registers, she/he will get a notification to verify her/his registration. Upon verification of the registration (by clicking a link in the notification) the account registration will be completed and queued up to one of Administrators to approve.
User Approval
When an administrator approves the new user's registration, the user will get a notification intimating her/him about the same.
Team Join Request
When a new player after registeration, requests to join a team, the Team Leaders will get a notification of the same
Acceptance to the team
Once one of the team leaders accept a new player's request to join, a notification will be sent out to the player to confirm the acceptance
Rejection notification
If the team leaders so choose to not accept a request to join and reject it, then a notification will be sent out to the player, stating the reason.
Request to Transfer
When a player requests to transfer to another team a request is sent to the administrators to approve.Upon passing the criteria for approval, once the transfer is approved, a separate FYI Notification is sent to the player, and leaders of both teams.
Rejection of Request of Transfer
If the transfer request is rejected, a FYI notification is sent to the player and the team the player is trying to transfer to, indicating why the transfer is rejected. A warning message is also sent to indicate what will happen if the player went ahead and played despite the rejection of transfer
Deactivation of a Player
When a player in the roster is deactivated, by a team leader, either because he is no longer playing or taking a temporary break, a FYI Notification is sent out to the player concerned to intimate the change in status

Team Emails

Team Profile Update
When a team profile is updated by either the Team Management or Administrators, a FYI Notification is sent out to the Team Leaders, with all the details of the Team Profile
Team Join Request
When a new player requests to join the team, the Team Leaders will get a notification of the same with a link to the join request. One of the team leaders will be able to approve/reject that request. Remember - only accept requests from players that you know. Sometimes players mistakenly join a team while they meant to join another
Payment Confirmation
A FYI Notification/Receipt is sent out to the Team Leaders for a ground deposit/registration payment made
Ball Pickup Confirmation
A FYI Notification is sent out to the Team Leaders for a ball packet pickup done for the team

Game Management

A whole slew of notifications are sent out as part of co-ordinating a game, between the two playing teams and the umpiring team(s), based on actions taken by any of the teams.

Initiating the IEmail
When the Home team (or away team having assumed the Home Team mantle upon default by Home Team) initiates the IEmail for the game, a notification is sent out to all the leaders of two teams (Home and Away) and the leaders of umpiring team(s) involved
Opponent Team Acknowledgement
(Currently done in email will soon be transitioned to website) A FYI notification will be sent to leaders of the IEmail initiating team and Umpiring Team(s)
Umpire Team(s) Acknowledgement
Currently done in email will soon be transitioned to website) A FYI notification will be sent to leaders of the both the playing teams and the second Umpiring Team(if it is different)
Umpire Designation/Change
Currently done in email will soon be transitioned to website) A FYI notification will be sent to leaders of the both the playing teams and the second Umpiring Team(if it is different)
Special Instructions on the Ground
Currently sent manually - will be rolled into the IEmail notification going forward. Any schedule change/ground swap will require a new IEmail to be sent to factor this.
Schedule change notification
Any schedule change resulting from game day change or ground swap will result in a notification sent out to both the team leaders from the ticketing module. This is not there currently and a new Notification that will be added.

Scorecard Notifications

Brief Scorecard Commit Notification
When a brief scorecard is entered in the system, a FYI Notification is sent out to both the team leaders and umpires who managed the game. Team Leaders from both teams, Umpires should consider this as a cue to go and review the scorecard for any inaccuracies, mistakes and get it rectified (if needed)
PoM Report Entry Request
When a brief scorecard is submitted, a request-for-action notification will be sent out to the umpire(s) of the game asking them to enter the Player-of-the-Game report
PoM Report Entry Confirmation
When one of the umpires for the game, submit the PoM Report, a notification, including the actual PoM Report, is sent out to leaders of winning team and the Player of the Match
Detailed Scorecard Commit
When a scorecard is committed, a FYI notification is sent to the leaders of both the teams
Detailed Scorecard UnCommit
When a scorecard is uncommitted by a Administrator (for variety of reasons), a FYI notification is sent out to leaders of both teams and the person who committed the scorecard
Scorecard Correction Comment
When a scorecard correction comment is submitted, a FYI notification is sent out to the person entering the Scorecard and the leaders of the both the teams involved in the game.

Process Notifications

Article/Post Approval
A confirmation is sent out to the author of the post
Article Comment Approval
A confirmation is sent out to the author of the comment. A FYI notification is sent out to the author of the article,indicating the posting of the comment
Match Video Submission Approval
A confirmation is sent out to the user who submits the video. A FYI notification, about the submission of the video, is sent out to the leaders of the both the teams that were involved in the game.

CoLA/CoRA Notices
CoLA/CoRA Notice to a particular team w.r.t to in-game incidents, show-cause notices on violation of rules...
League-wide blasts
League-wide blast of announcements (policy or otherwise) such as Fee Payment deadline, Abandonment of games, Rainy-day game policies etc.

Helpdesk Notifications

Ticket Assigned to a volunteer
When a new ticket gets assigned to a volunteer
  • the volunteer will get notified so they can act on it.
  • A FYI notification is also sent to the person submiting the ticket. The notification will also include an immediate action the person submitting the ticket should perform - for e.g. get the consent of other team involved in the swap, get consent of the team leader being change etc.
Ticket Updates
All ticket/request updates will trigger a notification
  • to the person who submitted the ticket and all the subsequent contributors to the ticket.(if the update is made by the volunteer or any other contributor to the ticket)
  • to the volunteer who is assigned the ticket and all the subsequent contributors to the ticket.(if the update is made by the submitter or any other contributor to the ticket)
Ticket Re-assignment
When the original assignee of the ticket re-assigns the ticket to another volunteer, a FYI notification is sent out to the new assignee of the ticket
Ticket Closure
When a ticket is closed, a FYI notification is sent out to the person submitting the ticket. The notification will also include an immediate action the person submitting the ticket should perform upon closing of the ticket - for e.g. delete any discussion forum posts/FB posts soliciting swaps etc.
