  • To discourage Forfeits during the tournaments the following rules are applicable:
    • The team that forfeits is liable for the entire ground payment.
    • -1 DRR will be applied while calculating the final ranking after the end of the round or the tournament.
    • -0.5 DRR to carry forward to the next tournament
  • If a team forfeits more than once or if there are more than one umpire no-shows in a tournament, additional penalties might apply as decided by CoRA. The team will also be not guaranteed a spot in the league in the following season

Withdrawal by a team

Starting 2018, here are the rules for teams bailing out

If Team withdraws before the start of the tournament

  • If they opt to come back next season, and if are accepted as new team (based on the constraints), they will start in Bronze

If a Team withdraws after the communication document is published without playing a game

  1. The team will be locked with all their players prevented from going to another team
  2. Levy a penalty fee depending on # games (ex - 14*40 = $560)
  3. Once penalties are paid team will be unlocked & players will be allowed to transfer to another team during the same tournament IF THE NEW TEAM accepts ALL THE UMPIRING assignments that are pending.
  4. Next season, they will start in Bronze if they are accepted into the league which is highly unlikely.

If the Team withdraws any time after a few games

  1. The team will be locked with all their players prevented from going to another team
  2. Full ground fees will be collected for the remaining games in the tournament (effectively a forfeit of each game)
  3. The team will be required to fulfil any/all remaining umpiring assignments.
  4. Once penalties are paid team will be unlocked & players will be allowed to transfer to another team during the same tournament subject to the transfer rules and IF THE NEW TEAM accepts ALL THE UMPIRING assignments that are pending.
  5. Next season, they will start in Bronze in the unlikely event of the etam getting accepted back in the league.

Abandoned Games

  • A game is considered Abandoned only when it is deemed impractical to complete the game, in spite of the best efforts by all involved to complete the game, due to unforeseen circumstances or weather . Please refer to CricBay Handbook for further clarification.
  • For all interrupted games, DLS Method will be used to get the result for the game. DLS kicks in after 5 overs of team batting second.
  • For ABANDONED weekends (due to rains), CoLA may designate some weekends, on an ad-hoc basis, as buffer weekends. CoLA reserves the right to change the dates, the grounds, the umpiring assignments and the overall timeline of the tournament. CoLA’s decisions are binding on the playing and the umpiring teams. CoLA will be very fair and reasonable to all teams while making these adjustments
  • If for some reason, CoLA just cannot reschedule a game due to a variety of considerations, (including the unreasonable extension of tournament end date) both teams get 2 points each and 0 DRR
  • Teams may choose to play their "abandoned" games on the "Off" weekends listed above (or any other weekend) , but it has to be mutually agreed upon by both playing teams. CoLA needs to be notified by raising a ticket for such a reschedule and the game result immediately following the game. While CoLA requests the umpiring teams to umpire the game, it is not mandatory for the umpiring teams to umpire on an off weekend unless the game was scheduled by CoLA. In this case the two playing teams need to proceed with the game without neutral umpires

Semifinals — you probably meant 12/14/2019

Bronze RR2 section:

“RR1 will end in 4 weeks”. should be “RR2...”

Line#3: “Fornmat“ —> format

Raj Parihar [Invincibles] on 9/2/2019 12:12:17 AM

I see i11 being listed in platinum but the ranking doc says they are scheduled to be relegated to gold ? Typo ?

Saurabh Garg [Yorkers] on 9/2/2019 2:57:05 PM

@Saurabh, My guess is if a team gets merged or bails out from a division then all bottom 8 from that division may not be relegated due to slide up. ultimatley, P/G/S have to have 28 teams in each and rest in bronze.

Raj Parihar [Invincibles] on 9/2/2019 7:15:30 PM

Beamers merged with Dynamited which resulted in Platinum having 27 teams.. hence the first ranked ourt of 8 teams that are getting relegated is staying which happens to be i11.

Sheshu Shenoy [Aryans CC] on 9/2/2019 7:40:00 PM

I seems that not all bottom 8 teams of Silver are relgated to Bronze? We only see 4 teams being in this bucket? why is that?

Sid Paruthi [Strikers] on 9/3/2019 5:57:26 PM

My friend (Mukund) and I had an observation. It seems that the team ranked 8 (or even 7) is at a disadvantage to get promoted when compared to a team ranked 9 (or even 10). While the team ranked 8 will face the team ranked 1 in the QF, the team ranked 9 will face the bottom team in the leage for a ranking game. For both the teams the outcome of the game counts for the purpose of promotion to the next stage. Of course the QF-ists get one more ranking game but so do the #9 team as well. I have two possible solutions. Either teams #9 to #12 should play the losers of QFs to decide on promotion or teams #9 to #16 should play the ranking game and the winners should play against losers of the QF (the latter solution is still inferior but at least somewhat better than the current system).
